ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

Seraikella-Kharsawan Judgeship having its head quarters at Seraikella was carved out from the Judgeship of Singhbhum West in September, 2001.

Sri Braj Kishore Pandey was the first District & Sessions Judge after the creation of the Judgeship of Seraikela-Kharsawan. At present total 13 Judicial Officers (Seraikella – 10, including Secretary, DLSA and Chandil Sub-division - 03) are posted in this Judgeship. At present 18 Court rooms and 18 chambers are available in Seraikella and 10 Court rooms and 10 chambers are available in Chandil Sub-division for dealing Judicial business. One Mediation room is also available where conciliation between the parties are taken place with the help of Mediators. Construction of Nayay Sadan is also under process which is pending for approval before the government. One Computer server room is available in the Judgeship where centralized filing counter is available to file cases. One Video Conferencing room is also available.

All the Judicial Officers have been provided Government residential quarter. Land for construction of building for the Principal Judge, Family Court has been identified but approval is pending before the government.
